Rose Coloured Starling / Rosy Starling
This Asian beauty was first noted in a garden at Lypiatt Road, Corsham on the 4th August 2020. I attended the following morning where I observed it roosting on powerlines between 5am and 10am...probably recovering from it's long flight.
It spent the rest of the day feeding on meal worm in a back garden where I took this shot.
On the 6th and 7th it spent most of the time roosting in a dense yew in a front garden. On the 8th August it was not seen but one appeared at Chesil Beach on the south coast which has the same markings on the beak so I'm presuming it's the same bird. A great bird for my local area!
