Westland Merlin HM2 VIGILANCE - ZH831 - QinetiQ

Seen with two VIGILANCE pods for CROWSNEST trials

CROWSNEST was a programme lead by Lockheed Martin to replace the Sea King ASaC7 with both Lockheed Martin and Thales both putting forward proposals.
This mission fit pictured, is Lockheed Martin's featuring the VIGILANCE radar pods on the sides containing a Elta AESA radar, IFF and ESM. These pods fit in the torpedo pylon fittings and only needs a single point power and data connection to operate which are already compatible with the Merlin HM2's missions systems.
The competition winner in the end was Thales with it's CERBERUS or 'bagger' radar system just like the Sea King ASaC7.
